Get on the Children's Alliance Website at childally.org and sign up for a MAPP class.

A MAPP class is the training needed to become a foster parent.  These classes consist of 10 classes that are approximatley 3 hours per class.  These are typically offered on-line one night a week.

Select a child placing agency to license through. You can select any agency you want regardless of where you take your MAPP training.  Some MAPP trainings are offered by agencies and some are not affiliated with any agency.  Feel free to call Kids R First and ask us to point you in the right direction. We want to help you out whether you license through us or another agency.

All foster parents are required to have current CPR/First Aid certification within the past two year.

Finger Printing done through DCFS.  Everyone living in the home 14 years and older must be finger printed.  You can sign up for finger printing by clicking here.
